The great elements, egoism, intellect, and also the Unmanifested Nature, the ten senses and one (mind), and the five objects of the senses.

Transliteration

mahābhūtāny ahaṅkāro buddhir avyaktam eva ca
indriyāṇi daśaikaṃ ca pañca cendriyagocarāḥ

अनुवाद

पाँच महाभूत, अहंकार, बुद्धि और अव्यक्त (मूल प्रकृति) भी तथा दस इन्द्रियाँ, एक (मन) और पाँच इन्द्रियों के विषय

भावार्थ

इस श्लोक में भगवान कृष्ण क्षेत्र (शरीर या भौतिक प्रकृति) के चौबीस तत्वों का वर्णन शुरू करते हैं। यहाँ भौतिक सृष्टि के मूल घटकों का उल्लेख किया गया है, जिनमें पाँच स्थूल तत्व (पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश), अहंकार, बुद्धि, अव्यक्त प्रकृति, दस इन्द्रियाँ (पाँच ज्ञानेन्द्रियाँ और पाँच कर्मेन्द्रियाँ), मन और पाँच इन्द्रिय विषय (शब्द, स्पर्श, रूप, रस, गंध) शामिल हैं। ये सभी मिलकर क्षेत्र का निर्माण करते हैं।

The great elements, egoism, intellect, and the unmanifested (nature) as well, the ten senses, the one (mind), and the five objects of the senses

Meaning

In this verse, Lord Krishna begins to describe the twenty-four components that constitute the ‘Kshetra’ (the field or material body). These include the five great elements, the false ego, the intellect, the unmanifested primary matter, the ten senses (five of perception and five of action), the mind, and the five sense objects. Together, these elements make up the physical and mental apparatus of the living entity.
